Japan race preview

Circuit Description
The Honda owned Suzuka International Racing Course began hosting the Japanese Grand Prix in 1987 and annually since 2009. The current 5.807 kilometer circuit opened in 1962 as a Honda test track. A fan and driver favorite, it includes 18 corners that challenge the driver and the tyres. It is the only figure 8 circuit on the Formula One calendar and one of the
very few in the world. The first sector is known for the ‘S’ Curves which turns into the fast hard right handed Degner Curves. Another great section is the Spoon Curve, which requires drivers to apex turn 14 perfectly to get a run down towards 130R and Casio Triangle. This track rewards the consistent and benefits those who can manage tyres over long stints and keep all four wheels on the pavement and off the grass.

Tier 3 – Monday
This race could be a major turning point in the Tier 3 Championship. Sergey065 is looking for his fifth straight Grand Prix victory after dominating his home race last week at Russia. The Alfa Romeo driver is now just 23 points behind reigning Tier 3 champion PerryTheDog6, who will try to repeat as Tier 3 winner at Suzuka. Returning to the grid after a three week holiday is Jaykub_L, who now needs to dig his way out of a 36 point deficit from top spot in the driver standings.
Other potential names to watch for are RaCeR-001 and Tigaby. RaCeR-001 finished third on the podium last year, while Tigaby seems to have shown significant improvements at difficult tracks the past few races. As for the constructors standings, Red Bull can clinch the team championship if they can outscore Alfa Romeo by 20 points and Williams by 1 point.

Tier 2 – Tuesday

The Ferrari battle for the championship continues as Matrix looks for his third straight win, after dominating both Singapore and Russia. Twitch_COSrikki is clinging to a one point lead in the drivers’ championship. Other names to look for are Mitch791 and x427, who both finished P3 and P5 respectively in last year’s Tier 2 race and could challenge for the win in wet conditions. This tier tends to produce the most mixed results, so there has the potential to have several battles and interesting results from the midfield on back.

Tier 1 – Wednesday

This race is all about the battle between Legominecraft3 and Al_Ataqueeeeeeer. Just 20 points separate the two going into the final stretch of the season. Will the top two in the top tier give each other space, or will they come together like they did last week. Coming back to Tier 1 this week is JFRocher after serving his race ban. As for the rest of the grid, the two Renaults, Calzo210 and Conzo1993, put on a show in Sochi and look to do the same in the far East. Finally, we
should see everyone’s favorite Dutch driver Thomas-ADO070 back, he’ll look to be back on the podium around Suzuka like he did last year, finishing P2.
